Welcome to the Hybrid Workshop, where traditional craftsmanship meets digital fabrication.

This site was born from a simple love of picking up a tool and trying. In a world that is changing faster than ever, the pace can feel blinding. For me, learning and building creates a steadier rhythm -- one that is equal parts humbling and rewarding. I started with terrible box planters on a balcony and a limited set of tools. I am not an expert, and that is part of the point. I enjoy experimenting, putting a unique twist on familiar ideas, and learning in real time. That process is what brings me joy.

The inspiration for this site -- and even the name TheCraftyCatsman -- came from two stray cats that would hang around while I worked on early projects. That motivation grew even stronger once I could create alongside my daughter. Many of the projects here were made for her or with her. We even gutted a plaster-walled room and rebuilt it piece by piece into her nursery. I proposed in the finished space.

The act of creating something from nothing has been a passion of mine for decades. Now we are entering a world where "creation" is taking on new meaning. Instead of shying away from this frontier, I plan to lean in -- learning as much as I can and sharing what works (and what does not). That is why I call this a hybrid workshop: a place where I blend cutting-edge technology with the hands-on skills I have built through traditional making.
